I love using wicker baskets to add style and a cozy touch to my home! It may seem silly to write a blog post about how to use wicker baskets, but not everyone may realize how versatile these cute little guys are!
Obviously, you can use wicker baskets to store things (laundry hamper?), but there are also so many different ways to utilize them in each space of your home. There are so many different styles, shapes and sizes of wicker baskets available now, that they have become one of the top go to picks for home decor and interior decorators.
Wicker baskets are also very timeless and easy to use for many many years (it’s not something you will get tired of and donate a year later). Some of my favorite home decor purchases have been wicker baskets!

Wicker baskets are a great way to add extra storage and style to your console tables. You can place a wicker tray on top as a landing place for your keys, wallet, or mail. I also like the look of just using wicker baskets as decorative pieces under the table. Wicker baskets fill that empty space and will give your entry table more texture and style!
In my home, we actually used square wicker baskets at the bottom of our TV built-ins to hide and store our cable box and wires! With bookcases, you can really play with different shapes and styles of baskets. Square shaped ones are always a great option, but you can even try propping up a round wicker tray against the back wall to add shape and dimension to your bookcase decor.
Why not throw a plant inside a basket to add some style to your boring plastic pot? Even faux trees and plants need some love and can be placed in a cute basket!

Wicker baskets in the living room can be used to store your blankets, pillows, books, kids toys….whatever you find useful! We have a big round wicker basket in our living room that we use to store blankets and it keeps the space looking organized and cute at the same time.
The mudroom is one area in my home that needs some major love. I definitely want to incorporate wicker baskets in my mudroom to help hide the embarrassing amount of shoes we throw all over the floor! You can obviously use baskets in the bedroom for laundry, but I love the look of baskets placed at the end of the bed, side of a chair, or against the wall. They don’t always have to have a practical purpose other than just sitting there looking pretty! (Our husbands won’t get it but we will LOL). It really just helps create that cozier feel in your room.
Pretty sure wicker baskets are one of the top items people use when they re-organize their pantries! They are perfect for storing canned goods, snacks, vegetables, paper towels….its purpose in the pantry is honestly endless.
Now, if you want to take your wicker basket game to another level, you can use wicker TRAYS to organize other parts of your home! I love the idea of using a large tray to create a coffee station as seen above, or to store your recipe books or kitchen goodies on the counter. You can even place a wicker tray on your coffee table and fill it with a pretty center piece, candle, and magazines. It just makes everything look so much more clean and organized.
