From April 14 to April 19, 2025, our company, as one of the Chinese fruit companies delegations, went to Indonesia to investigate the market and explore cooperation opportunities. As the world's fourth most populous country and an important economy in Southeast Asia, Indonesia's per capita GDP continues to grow, and its fruit consumption potential is huge. It is one of the important markets for China's fruit exports. At present, Chinese fruits account for more than 70% of Indonesia's total imported fruits, with significant advantages.
The companies that visited Indonesia this time came from Hebei, Hubei, Sichuan, and Xinjiang, and their export products were mainly fresh pears, citrus, lemons, and Korla fragrant pears. We focused on visiting Indonesia's top fruit importers, and conducted field investigations and surveys of high-end fruit retail stores in Jakarta and the largest local fruit wholesale market.
Most of Indonesia's fruit imports are quota-based, and only a few fruits such as fresh pears do not require quotas. This policy determines that Indonesia's fruit import market is not an open market, and there are certain threshold restrictions for fruit exports to Indonesia. This Indonesian inspection trip helps Chinese fruit companies accurately connect with core importers, understand export policies and market demand, and help the Chinese fruit industry.
